“Get ready to be swept up in a whirlwind romance. It absolutely charmed me.” —Reese Witherspoon

“Josie Silver writes with a warmth so palpable her characters sneak their way into your heart and stay for a long time.”—Jill Santopolo, New York Times-bestselling author of The Light We Lost

Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away.

Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It's Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.

What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

  • Crummy

This book is simply horrible, there is no character development, the plot is hard to follow because there is so much that is skipped over, and I just can’t connect to the characters; therefore, I cannot root for them. The main narrator’s love interest is so into himself I want to gag and I just don’t know what the narrator sees in him because we don’t really get to see their relationship develop. Kind of boring and a definite waste of money.

I love a good romance story and this is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. All the characters were so relatable and likable. I highly recommend this book for someone looking for a light romance story.

Sweet coming-of-age story about friendship & love with a side of family & travel. Narration alternates between two members of a love triangle. I couldn’t put it down!

  • A simple read

Shallow and ultimately uninteresting. The character development was worthy of a teen magazine. Just silly.
  • Liked it.

I’ve had that look before, when you see someone and just know. A good read, the beginning was a little slow for me, but couldn’t put it down toward the end.
  • What a story!
